This is the e-mail I sent out to 14 of my closest friends, family members, and my significant other.
I am embarking upon a special project which I hope results in a book of poetry. The premise is simple enough… write a poem each day. I call this project “Breathe” because to me, writing is like breathing. I do it unconsciously and yet it’s something I must do to live. Writing is as critical to me as the air I breathe – and as precious.
I have chosen those in my life who are of most importance to me to submit words which have meaning to them. The interesting part starts now…when you must limit yourself to one word per letter of the alphabet. That’s 26 words – one each from A to Z.
Use a Dictionary. Use a Thesaurus. Use your imagination. There is no limit to what you submit to me – just don’t make up nonsensical words!
I have requested words from a total of 14 people. This will allow me to meet my objective of one poem per day for the entire year.
I am excited to receive your list and to see the disparities and similarities between the words chosen. Please e-mail it to me promptly!
